AUBURN — The 2022 SEC football schedule was released in painstakingly long-winded fashion Tuesday, with an SEC Network television special meant to be dramatic. It revealed that Auburn's home and road games aren't exactly as balanced as this year.

The Tigers, who already knew their opponents but not the order, open their season with five straight home games for the first time since 2016. That stretch includes the back leg of Auburn's home-and-home with Penn State, which beat Auburn in a 28-20 thriller last week in Happy Valley.

Auburn opens SEC play with its cross-divisional game, hosting Missouri for the first time since the Tigers joined the SEC. Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz interestingly comes from the Bryan Harsin and Gus Malzahn coaching trees, and he was on Auburn's 2010 staff when the Tigers won the national championship.

There are only four road games: After LSU, Auburn goes to Georgia and Ole Miss back-to-back weeks, then travels to Mississippi State and Alabama in November.

Unlike this year, not all nonconference games are stacked at the beginning of the schedule: Auburn hosts Western Kentucky in its penultimate regular-season matchup, a final tune-up for Harsin's first road Iron Bowl.

Here's the full schedule:
