EASTABOGA- NASCAR Sprint Cup points leader Denny Hamlin scored his seventh win of the season Sunday in Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The wreck filled race required three overtimes and an extra 12 laps to complete with Hamlin going three-wide through the trioval to narrowly beat Matt DiBenedetto at the finish line.
The race included 13 cautions, 2 red flags, and 58 lead changes and 200 laps to complete. Hamlin spent the majority of the race intentionally running in the back of the field to try avoid wrecks the usually occur at the 2.66 mile superspeedway.
NASCAR Cup Series continues next Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
