'Strange' absentee voting in Alabama

Alabama’s attorney general, Luther Strange, has issued an opinion that married couples cannot send their requests for absentee ballots in the same envelope. I just got a call from the city of Jacksonville advising me that the requests will be returned so they can be put into separate envelopes and mailed back with two separate stamps.

This is strange and is in keeping with the attorney general’s name. I suspect this is just one more example of Republican efforts to limit voting. I usually vote Democratic, but I have supported Republicans several times. This attorney general will certainly not get my vote when he runs for any future office, dog catcher excepted.
