I noticed about 10 years ago that we needed a red light at the intersection of U.S. 431 and Bynum-Leatherwood Road.

I talked to one elected official who told me that the Alabama Department of Transportation was doing a survey of the intersection and a red light should be installed in a few months.

Now it is 10 years later and there is no red light. The Anniston Army Depot workers and others who travel this road daily have to cross four lanes of heavy traffic to head north if they live in Alexandria, Ohatchee, Wellington, Glencoe and Gadsden. The danger of a bad wreck taking the life of a family member or a dear friend scares me.

ALDOT, we need a red light now!
