The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the value in recognizing and preparing for an inevitable crisis. We may never know what might have been if the world had invested more time, attention and resources ahead of COVID-19, but lessons learned will likely help us be better prepared the next time a pandemic threatens our way of life.

But it should not end there. We need to take the same lessons we have learned from COVID-19 to avoid another inevitable crisis – climate change.
