U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore visited Washington on Wednesday.
According to The Washington Post, Moore, who recently beat Luther Strange in a Republican runoff for the Senate seat, did not bother to meet with Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Tuscaloosa, the state’s senior senator.
“Once he calls me, I’ll meet with him,” Shelby told The Post. Shelby also mentioned he has not spoken with Moore since the Sept. 26 runoff.
Is it bad manners on Moore’s part, or a purposeful snub of Shelby, who endorsed Strange in the runoff? Either way, it’s bad form for a politician hoping to join the Senate, a place where good manners and congeniality still matter when it comes to getting things done.
