Jonathan Yarbrough, an Anniston police officer who rescued a woman from a knife-wielding man last Thursday, deserves a community-wide salute.

Yarbrough was searching for a suspect when he heard a woman crying for help. He followed the screams to inside an Isabell Avenue residence where he found the suspect holding a knife over the bleeding woman. Officer Yarbrough arrested the suspect without further incident.

Anniston police Chief Shane Denham said Friday, “There’s no doubt he saved that woman’s life. He did a fabulous job.”

Thanks to Yarbrough and the rest of our local police officers who protect and serve.
