The Weaver Christmas parade has been moved to 2 p.m. on Sunday, according to Mayor Wayne Willis. The parade had been previously slated for Saturday morning, but a 100 percent chance of thundershowers throughout the day caused Willis to reschedule.
Sunday’s forecast anticipates a much lower chance of rain, 20 percent, throughout the day. Despite Saturday’s weather, the Christmas Village will be open at the Weaver Community Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The Webster’s Chapel community, meanwhile, has also moved the date of its annual Redneck Christmas Parade to 11 a.m. Dec. 8, organizers said. Like Weaver’s event, the parade had also been set for Saturday.
