Oxford police Thursday charged 33-year-old Deandre Collins Varner with intentional murder in his wife’s stabbing death Wednesday, according to an email sent by Oxford police Capt. L.G. Owens.

Teneshia Denise Varner, 32, was found stabbed to death in the  Beck Road home near Athens Street in Bynum.

The initial call to police came at 4:13 p.m. Wednesday, following a domestic dispute at the residence.

Varner was released into custody of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s office. His bond has been set for $100,000 cash with a preliminary court date set for Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m., according to an email from Owens.
