A Birmingham man died Sunday in a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 20 near Heflin, officials said in a news release.

Lloyd Douglas Bradley, 38, was eastbound on I-20 around noon when his 2016 Jeep Patriot left the roadway and crossed the median into the westbound lanes near Exit 199 at Heflin, State Trooper Cpl. Jimmy Harrell wrote in the release.

After Bradley’s vehicle crossed into the opposite lanes of traffic the Jeep collided with a 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Samuel Hill, also of Birmingham, Harrell wrote. Hill’s vehicle then struck a 2007 Mercedes E-350 driven by Terri Everage of Atlanta, the corporal wrote.

Hill, Everage and her passenger, Kimberly Borawski, of La Grange, Ill., were taken by ambulance to Regional Medical Center for their injuries, Harrell wrote. Bradley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harrell said the wreck is under still investigation and declined to comment further.
