Heflin tree

Residents of Heflin gathered at the town's amphitheater space Tuesday evening for the lighting of their Christmas tree. Though difficult to make out in this shot, within the structure of the tree is also a Christian cross which can be lit up during appropriate music.

The Heflin Christmas Parade and the annual Holidays on Ross event has been moved to Dec. 14 due to anticipated rain this Saturday, according to Heflin City Clerk Shane Smith.

Holidays on Ross will commence at 3:30 p.m. at the city’s amphitheater and the Christmas parade will begin at 6:30, Smith said.

Holidays on Ross — a free event —  will feature family fun, food, crafts, Christmas music, shopping specials and carriage rides through town.
