Two former Anniston Star staff writers both found themselves directly in the path of Hurricane Michael today.
Patrick McCreless, who worked at The Star nearly a decade, started a new job just last week at The News Herald in Panama City, Fla. Kirsten Fiscus, a former Star crime and public safety reporter, moved this summer to the Montgomery Advertiser; that paper’s owner, Gannett, sent her to Panama City as part of the USA Today Network’s team covering the storm.
Both writers have been posting updates to social media today as the storm churned toward Panama City and then crashed into the coast. Check out some of the highlights from their feeds below.
