A 26-year-old Ohatchee man reported that his house had been shot into during an attempted burglary Friday, according to a Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office report.
According to the report, taken Saturday around 4 a.m., the man said the incident occurred at 7 p.m. Friday. The home is on Gilbert’s Ferry Road in Ohatchee, according to the report.
No one was home at the time of the incident, Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade said. The owner of the home heard someone around the house Friday night telling his dogs to hush, Wade said.
The man came home and saw holes in his house, Wade said.
A window on the home was damaged and is valued at $150, according to the report.
Nothing was taken from the home, according to the report.
“If someone shoots into somebody’s house it’s usually for a reason,” Wade said. “We don’t know that reason.”
The Sheriff’s Office had no suspects as of Monday afternoon, Wade said.
