Routine bridge repairs will close lanes and an exit on Interstate 20 starting Friday afternoon, according to a Thursday release from the Alabama Department of Transportation.
Department spokesperson Linda Crockett said Thursday roadwork was set to begin at 4 p.m. Friday and end by 5 a.m. Monday. The project will close the right lane of I-20 eastbound and the left lane of I-20 westbound for 1 mile just east of Oxford Exchange.
Included in the closures, exit 191 onto U.S. 431 southbound will be inaccessible during the maintenance. The department’s release suggested drivers take alternate routes, for which Crockett said U.S. 78 would do well.
“It’s just routine repairs through the weekend,” she said.
