Two separate reports of stolen handguns were filed with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office on Monday morning.
Capt. Marcus Wood said a man reported a .22-caliber revolver stolen after he’d allowed his son to drive his vehicle from February until Monday while his son was living in Georgia. Wood said it was not clear whether the son knew the gun had been in the vehicle.
The second firearm, a 9 mm handgun, was reportedly taken from an Alexandria woman after having friends at her home Friday night. Wood said the woman and a friend also reported a missing total of $70 during the same time frame on Saturday afternoon.
No arrests had been made Wednesday night.
