Anniston police on Monday were searching for suspects who shot into five vehicles at a bar on Highway 202 on Sunday, officials said.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired around 2:30 a.m. to Club Empire, formerly known as Dee Ford’s, Anniston police Capt. Curtis McCants wrote in an email. No one was injured in the shootings, Anniston police Sgt. Shaun Firestone said on Monday.
According to police reports, a 2000 Mercury Marquis, 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, 2012 Toyota Camry, 2017 Chevrolet Impala, and 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe each sustained between $500 and $1,000 worth of damage.
“No witnesses came forward as to why the vehicles were shot,” McCants wrote.
Firestone said that he wasn’t sure how many people were shooting but shell casings in three different calibers were found at the scene.
“We didn’t find any firearms and there wasn’t any video either,” the sergeant said.
Officers also took two reports of disorderly conduct, one report of assault, one report of theft, one report of robbery and one report of public intoxication at the bar over a four hour period.
“Officers later learned that there was an altercation inside the club but were unable to determine if it was related to the shots-fired call,” McCants wrote.
In the theft and robbery cases, two cell phones, credit and debit cards, a purse and $200 cash were taken.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Investigative Division at Anniston Police Department 256-240-4000, McCants wrote.
