There will be a remembrance ceremony for Maj. Dwayne Williams at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the City Cemetery.

Williams was the son of Pearl Williams and the late Horace Williams. He lost his life at the Pentagon on 9/11.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be at First Baptist Church at 230 Seventh St., N.E.

Keynote speaker be Lt. Col. Mcllwain. Jacksonville State University president Dr. John Beehler will speak. County Commissioner Fred Wilson will participate. First Baptist Choir will perform patriotic music. Piedmont High teacher Jason Wright and the PHS Ensemble will perform.

Also taking part in the ceremony will be the JSU ROTC cadets, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s honor team, Rev. Derek Staples and Rev. Lyle Holland.
