Amy Angel has worked in real estate for over 20 years. She now has her own mega team office at 11 Public Square in Jacksonville. The Amy Angel Team, which includes four women, is associated with Keller Williams Realty Group.
Annette Maddox is a buyer agent, Vivian Nail is executive assistant and LeAnne Vice is a licensed inside sales agent.
Amy said she gave a lot of thought to each employee before hiring her.
Annette is the newest member of the team and was not in real estate until Amy approached her about considering a career in the field.
“Based on her performance in other areas and her tremendous sphere of influence, I felt that she would excel for herself as well as be an asset to the team,” Amy said. “She got licensed and has since exceeded my expectations.”
Vivian has been with Amy since 2013. She is the first to arrive at work. She opens the office and prepares for the day. She takes care of paperwork and data entries and is responsible for getting contracts to closing.
“She’s very organized and efficient,” Amy said.
LeAnne is unique, according to Amy, because few teams in this area have an agent who does what she does. As a licensed agent, she works in the office. Her job is to meet new clients and get them ready to buy or sell.
“She’s responsible for getting in touch with a lender to be sure the client is pre-qualified,” Amy said. “She helps our clients find what they’re looking for before we take them to see a home. She also specializes in foreclosed properties and HUD properties.”
Ironically, Amy began her real estate career on the Square working in the office for Couch and Associates Real Estate. She said she feels that she’s come full circle since she has her own office there now.
“Twenty years ago I was answering phones for Tony Couch while I was studying to get my real estate license,” she said. “This is a big deal for me to come back to where I started.”
Amy said she feels like she took a risk specializing in Jacksonville because her team works all over Calhoun County and sometimes in Talladega and Cleburne counties.
“Jacksonville is our love,” she said. “It’s where Annette and I live and grew up and all four of us want to put our focus here.”
Amy attended Jacksonville High School as well as Jacksonville State University and feels fortunate to have many bonds with employees of both.
“I’m proud that many of them turn to me for their real estate needs,” she said.
Amy’s team primarily sells residential properties, including new construction. Her team handles new construction for her father, Gary, a developer. One community her father has developed is Buckhorn, located outside Weaver, “a very friendly neighborhood.”
The neighborhood features a private lake for fishing, walking trails, playgrounds, Zoe’s on the Lake Restaurant, and The Marketplace at Buckhorn. Homes range from $120,000 to over $300,000.
The team also sells commercial property. Currently one property she has listed is Stoneybrook Golf Course.
Amy and the team can be reached at 256-644-5292 or 256-225-3286. The public is invited to their open house Friday, Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
