We were only a week into spring when we saw almost all of our time-honored springtime traditions struck down by the coronavirus pandemic. Between cancelled Easter celebrations and postponed graduation ceremonies, it seems like there’s nothing to look forward to for the rest of the season. But there is one activity that hasn’t been snatched away by COVID-19: strawberry picking.
This region is full of strawberry fanatics who can hardly wait to get their hands on the little red gems for jams, cakes and pies of all kinds. Local farms are working hard to provide patrons with the berries they’ve come to love, but in a safe way that doesn’t jeopardize customers’ health.
