Hope Montgomery beat cancer before she turned 2, only a short time after her parents beat the odds in a battle with drug addiction.

Her dad, Adam Montgomery, said the now 10-year-old girl had been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer that grows from the kidneys and adrenal glands in children, just six months after she was born. The cancer had spread to her bones and was diagnosed as Stage IV. According to the American Cancer Society, children at that stage have a five-year survival rate of 40 to 50 percent
