Dallas-based band The Quebe Sisters talk musical influences, creative process and life on the road

The Quebe Sisters

The Quebe Sisters are (left to right) Grace, Hulda and Sophia.

The Quebe Sisters are a band that isn’t necessarily a throwback, but rather an unbothered vehicle that never was affected by current trends characterized by technology or corporate playlists.

The sisters — Grace, Sophia and Hulda — are heavily influenced by jazz, country and swing music. The musical ingredients come to life through the siblings and other members to form a triptych of influences, lilting harmonies and supreme instrumentation. The shows are a fiddle fan’s dream date rooted in yesteryear with a uniquely modern approach. The group is currently on tour and will be playing McCandless Hall in Athens, Ala., on July 14.
