Enjoy concerts from GSO and Sinta Quartet and murder mystery this month

Composers write music for people to enjoy. They hope their melodies will be hummed long after the concert has ended.

We will hear enjoyable music coming from two different directions this month when the Gadsden Symphony Orchestra entertains us with the ensemble’s family concert, “The Musical Zoo,” Feb. 25, and Oxford Performing Arts Center’s Chamber Music Series presents the Sinta Quartet Feb. 28. The quartet is a saxophone ensemble whose musicians not only perform classical and their arrangements of traditional folk music; they go a step further by making their lyrical tones heard on street corners, at grocery stores, schools, retirement homes and other public places. And their goal? To influence everyone everywhere with the joy and inspiration of music.
