Haley Cotton, a 2016 graduate of Jacksonville High School, recently received the 2016 Nancy Julian Distinguished Young Woman Award from the Junior League of Anniston-Calhoun, Inc.

The annual $3,000 scholarship is open to all senior girls in Calhoun County and is chosen through a competitive application process, including an interview.

Cotton is the daughter of Mindi and Bruce Turner and Colin Cotton. She is a member of Grace Episcopal Church and is active in the community. While at Jacksonville, she was named a member of the National Honor Society, served as senior class vice-president and as an ambassador. She has spent time as a Volunteen at Regional Medical Center, volunteer at the Science Olympiad, Woodstock 5K, UCP Telethon and Relay for Life. She will attend the University of Alabama in the fall.
