In Your Community ... Bienville Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution met Oct. 2

The topic for the Oct. 2 meeting at Bienville Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution was “Our American Flag” by Colonel Eric Sloughfy, the Support Operations Officer for the Alabama 167th Theater Sustainment Command at McClellan. He explained the significance of the stars, stripes and colors and shared facts about the words of the national anthem written during the War of 1812 by Francis Scott Kay. Sloughfy has moved 16 times during his 26-year career. In each community in which his family has lived he and Kim, his wife have participated in events and activities, he said.
