“Where I Come From: Stories from the Deep South” by Rick Bragg, Knopf, 2020, 252 pages, $27.95

Rick Bragg — Pulitzer prize-winning newspaperman, best-selling author, native son — has a new book coming out Oct. 27: “Where I Come From: Stories from the Deep South.” It’s a collection of the humorous columns he’s written in recent years, mostly for “Southern Living” and “Garden & Gun” magazines. They touch on everything from country music to Harper Lee to pickup trucks.

Bragg, now 61, is back home in Possum Trot, the small community near Jacksonville where he grew up and where he now lives, surrounded by family.
