Editor James Bennett's column: NASCAR driver Gase rides with memory of the late Davey Allison

Joey Gase will drive No. 28 in honor of Davey Allison in Talladega Superspeedway’s Xfinity and Cup races.

NASCAR driver Joey Gase will compete in races Saturday and Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway in honor of Hall of Famer Davey Allison and his mother, Mary, and in support of organ donation.

Gase’s Ford Mustang will be emblazoned with Allison’s No. 28 and paint scheme for the Xfinity and Cup Series races. If Saturday's Xfinity race is rained out, it likely would be run Monday at the track.
