Horseshoe Bend was unable to travel for the Tri-county basketball tournament at the last minute and the annual event became a three-team round robin late Friday. The Cleburne County girls defeated Ranburne 51-42 in their first game Saturday then won the tournament with a 57-32 victory over Clay Central later Saturday.

The Tigers trailed Ranburne 24-19 at halftime then limited the Bulldogs to four points in the third quarter to get back into the game. Olivia McDaniel scored 10 points, Kendall Houston nine, Brooklyn McDaniel seven, Haven Freeman four, Tatiana Ervin three, Alex Casey two and Micah Pentecost two. Ervin led in steals with four and Casey had three. Ervin and Parker each had three assists.
