East Heflin

Excited to announce that TJ Martin begins this Sunday as Youth Minister for East Heflin!  Encourage your youth to attend! Brotherhood breakfast is this Sunday at 8:30am. Egg hunt will be at Shannon and Sandra Roberts’s house march 24th at 10am. SonRise Service will be held at the Bell House Bed and Breakfast at 7am with breakfast there to follow. Come on out!

We turned to Gen. 16:1-16, “When Faith becomes Folly!” Abram and Sarai could not conceive and Sarai decided to make Hagar a wife. Recall that Abram brought Hagar out of the sinful Egyptian land as unnecessary baggage. It was not God’s will that he brought spoils back and not His will that Sarai was to take matters into her own hands. God wants us to do his will, not ours.

Abram was all for the plan Sarai created but once Hagar conceived he turned away telling Sarai it was hers to deal with. Abram was the spiritual leader. He was to have handled it. He should have handled it from the very beginning! When Sarai dealt harshly with Hagar she fled into the wilderness as if she could run from her problems. God found her and you can be assured he sees you now. She had to go back.

The results were there a difficult son was born to them – Ishmael. When we lead our families in the wrong direction, there will be trouble. What do you want?

Mount Olive Church of God

Sister June opened the Adult Sunday School Class today by reading poem “ I Am Committed.”

The lesson today was “ Temple Sins and Departing Glory,” Ezekiel 8:1-10:22. God’s presence will not stay where sin is . Most of us have a room in our homes where visitors aren’t allowed. We have to be sure our Spiritual houses (our souls) do not have areas we don’t allow God. A quote by Woodrow Kroll , “ There comes a time when sin is so blatant, so ‘in God’s face,’ that , as a Holy being , He must respond with Holy Judgement.”

In our morning service Choir sang “I’ll Fly Away .”

Brother Greg said “One Day we are actually going to fly away .” Sister April sang and testified,”There is lots of things we don’t want to live without but could . But - without Jesus life would have no meaning or purpose.”

Brother Levi and Sister Lauren Gamble will welcome a new baby girl in August  our Church Family is Very Excited !

In tonight’s service Brother John and Brother Taylor sang , both have Great Talents they use for God .

Brother Ronnie’s message tonight was from Acts 8:5-13 “ Facade .”  We have to keep on the Armour Of God, be real . When we’re truly what we say we are our Anchor (Jesus ) will hold till the storm passes by , a facade will blow away .

You Are Loved ! Everyone Welcome ! Spiritual Hospital open . Jesus the cure for sin sick souls .
