The Daily Nugget

Psalm 40:4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Our verse for this week is simple but powerful.  It is plain but perfect for us to study after the past few verses we have dug in here in this chapter.  The last few verses we have had a celebration over how faithful the Lord is to His children.  He is faithful to rescue us and redeem us from failures and dangers.  But I must mention that He can also be faithful in chastisement if needed.  Here in verse 4 we are reminded of how we should be faithful to Him.  Verses 1-3 proved His faithfulness to us, so now verse 4 commands us to be faithful to Him.  Our verse says the person who trusts the Lord will be a happy person.  Notice that this action on our part will not come humanly natural.  He uses the word “maketh” here.  This word shows that there must be an effort on our behalf.  Yes, He is there for us, but are we attempting to trust Him?  Are we so caught up in our comfort zone of the flesh that we only trust our self?  Proverbs 3:5 covers this; Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  We should make our self trust Him.  Then after a while you will begin to trust Him more easily.  You see, when we train our self to trust Him then He will begin to reveal the hidden proofs of His faithfulness to us.  Therefore we will begin to strive to trust Him more and more.  And then and only then will we begin to thrive spiritually.  Once we learn to trust Him in everything then our comfort zone will move from us to HIM.

Now as we move further into this powerful verse we find some wisdom.  Have you ever found yourself in the position of trying to figure out the truth about a situation, yet you feel torn between this and that?  I think we all have been in this position more than once.  Our verse reminds us that if we fully trust in the Lord then these decisions will come easier.  How’s that?  As our trust in the Lord strengthens then our spirit tends to blend with His spirit more and more.  Then when we happen upon a situation of truth and untruth the Holy Ghost within us will speak out about the truth.  It is amazing how a situation looks like the truth but the Spirit will be speaking right the opposite.  Just wait around for a while and the truth will rise to the top.  Truth is powerful and will make you free.  Amen and Amen.

 Relax…and trust in the Lord.

We have to turn our back on everything we were and say  “ God, I belong to You !” God look’s on the heart, just as God allowed us time to grow we have to give new convert’s time to grow and fall in love with the Spirit of God !

God pay’s special attention to each of us , let’s do all we can to be pleasing in His sight !

Brother Ronnie’s message tonight was from Psalm 51:6-15, “We’ve all had , “ What am I gonna do moment’s ? When our joy get’s low it’s easier for the devil to get to us !
