Cleburne County’s Board of Education unanimously agreed on a number of transfers, resignations and hires during a Tuesday meeting at its central office.

Jamie Smith was approved for a one-year principal contract at Ranburne Elementary to start July 1 and end on June 30, 2019.

The board accepted the following resignations:

— Tasha Romines, special education teacher at Cleburne County High School

— Cecilia Lemon, teacher at Cleburne County Middle School

— Sarah Henderson, teacher at Cleburne County High School

— Brandon Bedford (retirement), teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary School

The board approved employment of the following:

— Sara Brackin, special education teacher at Ranburne High School

— Selena Duncan, special education teacher at Cleburne County High School

— Natasha Cohoon, Ramona Phillips and Misty Ward as Title I summer school intervention teachers at Ranburne Elementary School

— Melody Merrill as a Title I instructional aide at Ranburne Elementary School

— Jessica Harris, math teacher at Ranburne High School

— Heather Bryant, special education bus aid for the school’s transportation system

— Kristi Wilkinson, teacher at Cleburne County Middle School

— Kayla Bowman, teacher Title I summer school kindergarten teacher

The board approved the following transfers:

— Kabrina Snell, teacher, is transferring from from Ranburne Elementary to Cleburne County Middle School

— Leah Mobley, teacher, from Cleburne County Middle School to Ranburne Elementary School

— Sarah Williamson, teacher, from Ranburne Elementary School to Ranburne High School

The board also unanimously approved Lincoln Excavating & Construction, the low bidder, to complete parking lot resurfacing at school facilities. Ranburne High School will get a parking lot resurfacing at  a cost of $29,900 and Cleburne County Career Tech School will receive a parking lot resurfacing at a cost of $38,450.  

The board also unanimously approved Jonathan Burge as a volunteer coach at Ranburne High School.

The next regular board meeting will be at July 17 at 8 a.m. at the central office.
