ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Project No. DR-4082-009 Tuscaloosa County Commission (Owner) Separate sealed bids for A New Holt Community Tornado Safe Room will be received by the Tuscaloosa County Commission at the Tuscaloosa County Commission Chambers, Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, 714 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401 until 10:00 o�clock a.m. (CST) December 10, 2019 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. The information for bidders, form of bid, form of contract, plans, specifications and form of bid bond, performance and payment bond, and other contract documents may be examined at the following location: Tuscaloosa County Planning and Community Development, Courthouse Annex, 2501 7th Street, Suite 300, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401. Copies may be obtained at the office of Marcum Architects, LLC located at 2804 8th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 upon payment of $200.00 for each set. Any unsuccessful bidder, upon returning such set promptly and in good condition, will be refunded his payment and any non-bidder upon so returning such a set will be refunded $200.00. A Mandatory Pre Bid Conference is required for this project. All Bidders will be required to attend a pre-bid conference to be held by the Tuscaloosa County Commission at the Tuscaloosa County Commission Chambers, Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, 714 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401 at 10:00 a.m. (CST) on December 03, 2019. A tour of the project site to familiarize the contractor with the general location of the project will be given following the pre-bid conference. It shall not be mandatory that all bidders submitting a bid attend the project tour. Any questions concerning the pre-bid conference shall be directed to John Marcum, John@marcumarchitects.com (205)752-1117. If a bidder fails to have a company employee present at the Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference, bidder shall return contract documents, specifications and construction plans immediately to the ARCHITECT. Failure to have a representative present will disqualify the bidder from having a bid considered and will be considered a non-responsive bidder. Any plan holder wanting to visit the site prior to pre-bid can contact the Architect to arrange access to the site. The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Each bidder must deposit with his bid security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the information to Bidders. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3. Segregated Facility, Section 109 and E.O. 11246. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
