Consolidated Publishing Co. is excited to announce the release of mobile apps for the Anniston Star and Daily Home.
What type of devices are supported?
iOS apps work with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. You will need iOS version 7.0 or higher.
Android apps work with Android tablet or smartphone that is running software version 4.0 or higher.
How much do the apps cost?
Both of our apps are free to download. Content in the apps will be free through the end of January (Except for e-edition). On February 1st, all print and online subscribers will be able to validate their information for continued access.
How do I login?
We currently do not have a sign-in system within our apps due to content being available to everyone. The next version update will allow you to use your website credentials to sign-in for access.
What is the timeline feature?
Timeline allows you to select the sections of our newspaper that interest you most. These selections will appear aggregated on your initial "My News" screen.
To set your timeline, simply click the blue grid on the top of the screen. Then click the individual sections that you wish to see.
How to I navigate through the apps?
This will vary depending on the operating system and device you are using. Most iOS devices will allow you to swipe left to change sections. If you are in a story, swiping right will take you to the next one in that section. The Android version does not allow for swiping to different sections, but you can still swipe to different stories within a section.
Clicking the Anniston Star or Daily Home logo will take you back to the "My News" section. The hamburger menu to the right of the logo brings up the menu. You can access all sections from the menu, as well as view saved stories and alter settings.
How do I report a problem or bug?
Please email us with any issues you encounter while in our mobile apps. We strive for perfection and will do everything we can to fix all problems.
How can I advertise my business on your apps?
Please email us if you are interested in advertising on our mobile apps.
