Summer in the South NEXT | START OVER | PREVIOUS
A baby treefrog of the invasive exotic species Orthosiphon stamineus or Cuban Treefrogs. We had just had a big rain and the new growth of Surinam Cherry, Eugenia uniflora, traps a small pool of rainwater near the stem. Many of these Little frogs relax in the natural little individual pools formed for them by the rain. The little native frogs are just doomed. There is nothing anyone can do that would make the Cuban frogs disappear. They are with us for the duration, I believe, so we might as well make the best of it. At least they are cute when they are babies.
