Summer in the South NEXT | START OVER | PREVIOUS
These jugs have little to do with summer, but they do have a story. The small one is a water pitcher used by my grandparents and is from the late 1800s. The brown jug was found in an old building that I tore down and is likely from the early part of the 1900s, and the jug with writing is from the early 1900s in Anniston. The owner of the Peerless prior to prohibition produced his own whiskey, and this is one of the jugs he sold.
