A sunbathing Brown Anole a.k.a. Cuban Anole. I think it is growing a new tail. When their tails are grabbed by a predator, the tail will break off easily. Mother Nature figured that the anole would rather lose his tail, temporarily, than to be eaten. So hopefully the predator will be momentarily confused and the anole will have time to escape, sans his tail. Over a period of time, the part of the tail that was lost will be regenerated. The new one never looks exactly like the old one. For one thing it is darker in color.
