Feels Like Fall NEXT | START OVER | PREVIOUS
One of my Fiddlewood trees, Citharexylum fruticosum, loaded with its grape-like fruit. The birds have been devouring the green berries all summer, but the plant has continued to bloom and bear new clusters of fruit. Some are finally beginning to ripen. It is a native plant. I bought one at a native plant fair two years ago and grew a new one from a cutting and another one from berries that were on the original plant. Some plants are male and some are female. I was lucky that the one I grew from a seed turned out to be a male.
