A juvenile male Blue Dasher dragonfly, Pachydiplax longipennis, obelisking upon Princess Flower, Tibouchina urvilleana. Obelisking is where the dragonfly points its abdomen toward the sky to presents a smaller surface to directly receive the rays of the sun, thus allowing the dragonfly to reduce its body temperature. The hotter the day, the closer the abdomen is to vertical. This was such a hot day that some were going beyond vertical and were toppling over.
