Help! I can't log in!
I am an Anniston Star subscriber. Do I have to pay extra to access the Web site?
- Absolutely not! Complete access to the Web site is included in your newspaper subscription. You do have to register with the site so that we can verify your subscription.
- For help registering, please contact Customer Service Representative Neosha Armstrong at (256) 235-3535 or e-mail narmstrong@annistonstar.com. You may also contact Gary Lewis at glewis@annistonstar.com or (256) 235-3531, or Brandon Wynn at bwynn@annistonstar.com or (256) 235-3535.
I have my user name and password, but I get an error message:
- The login is case sensitive. Make sure you are using the same combination of capital and lower case letters that you used to register.
- Your user name is your complete e-mail address. Be sure to include the designation of your Internet service provider after the @ symbol (e.g. johnsmith@yahoo.com)
- Make sure you don't have any spaces or extra periods in your e-mail address or password.
- If you are sure you are entering your login ID correctly, clear your browser's cache and then login again.
I want to change my password:
- Reset your password. Put in your e-mail address and a new password will be e-mailed to you.
- Choose a new password. Fill in the form, then put in your e-mail address and a password of your choice (five or more characters.)
I was asked to send you my IP address. What is that?
- An IP address is a unique numerical identifier for your computer or Internet connection. In some specific cases, we may require your IP address in order to diagnose and correct site access issues. If asked for your IP address, please send us the following set of numbers: 38.103.63.17
The front page isn't showing today's paper. What should I do?
- Most of the time when this happens, your computer has cached (or saved) an earlier version of the front page. Some Internet providers, such as AOL, do this automatically in order to speed up users' connections.
- If you use Windows, you can "force refresh" the page by holding down the control (Ctrl) button while pressing the F5 key at the top of your keyboard. Mac users can press shift-F5 to do the same. If this doesn't refresh the page, try the following to refresh the cache:
- AOL: click here for instructions.
- Internet Explorer: Click Tools » Internet Options » General tab » Delete Files » Delete all offline content » OK.
- Firefox: Click Tools » Options » Privacy » Clear (across from the Cache option) » OK.
- Safari: From the Safari menu, choose "Empty Cache" » Empty.
