Anniston Star Walking Tour
17. Packaging Center
After the newspaper is printed, it's likely to need some assembly before it is delivered to your paper box. Pre-printed advertising inserts arrive by the truckload and are stored a day or two until they are due to be published. As the freshly printed newspapers are brought by overhead conveyors into the packaging center, the pre-prints for that edition are retrieved from storage and mechanically inserted one at a time. Here, Diane Wright moves a skid of pre-prints into position so that they can be inserted into The Star.
