 Joe Medley came to The Star in November of 1996, after eight years as the sports editor of the Daily News in Bowling Green, Ky. Throughout Medley's time with The Star, he has covered Auburn University sports and pitched in on coverage in several areas, including recreational sports, high schools and NASCAR.
Since coming to Alabama, Medley has observed the passion of the Alabama-Auburn rivalry with amazement. "Everyone either wants to know what side you're on, or assumes you're on a side," he said. "I spent my first 31 years growing up and working in Kentucky, and I never saw anything like this. "If Alabama or Auburn ever plays Western Kentucky in one of those Division I-AA buy-a-win games, maybe then I'll be tempted to take a side." |
