Oxford police today announced an arrest in the Sept. 2 burning of the historic Davis Farm house.

At a press conference this afternoon, police said Nicholas Ray Allen, 30, of Oxford, is charged with second-degree arson and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Police said they believe they can link Allen to several other arsons in the area, including some that took place at Davis Farm.

Police said Allen confessed to the crime.

He was being held at the Oxford City Jail this afternoon.
