The young boys who vandalized a cemetery in Pell City should be made to pay for the damage they did by digging graves with a pick and shovel in this heat we are having.

Putting them in a detention facility is useless. They are in air-conditioned rooms, fed three meals per day and have a place to sleep and take a bath. That is not punishment for the lowdown deed they did.

It's about time we stop coddling our criminals and make the sentences something they can physically remember for as long as they live, then our jails and prisons would dwindle in number. Parents need to know where their children of that age are at all times. There is no excuse with the means of communication we have today.

It's time we brought back the days of being responsible parents who teach children something other than being left to run the streets and vandalize things.
