Last Friday night’s Music at McClellan featured Abbey Road Live!, a fun and entertaining Beatles tribute band. The music was great and the band was far more entertaining than I had expected.
Coinciding with Paul McCartney’s 68th birthday, the band thoroughly entertained the audience with a wide range of Beatles’ songs. It was great to see this event bring out people of all ages. Sitting in front of me was a group of teenage boys holding up lighters during “Golden Slumbers” while the baby boomers slow danced to “The Long and Winding Road.” I enjoyed the band’s more psychedelic versions of “I am the Walrus” and “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” while some crazy guy next to me sang along hideously to “Rocky Raccoon” (he might have been my husband). It was nice to see that Beatles love is alive and well in Anniston.
Dancing under the stars at McClellan, while the band played “All You Need is Love,” made me realize how lucky we are to have so many people working hard to bring us special events like this. Thanks to those responsible for Friday night’s Music at McClellan. Much fun!
