Congrats to Bienville Chapter DAR American history essay contest

The American History essay contest winners for fifth-eighth grades with the students writing and essay on the completion of “The First Transcontinental Railroad” on May 10, 1869.

All winners were from The Donoho School included, Amanda Sherer, eighth grader, daughter of Michael and Cathie Sherer; Parker Morgan, seventh grader, son of Gary and Cherri Morgan; Elizabeth Friar, sixth grader, third place state winner, daughter of Ed and Lori Friar; and Libby Davis, fifth grader, daughter of Bob and Lisa Davis.

The winners will read their original essays at 3 p.m. April 6 at the DAR meeting at the First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall, 1701 Henry Road.
