I would like to thank all of the folks who showed up at Janney Furnace Park in Ohatchee for Robert E. Lee’s birthday celebration in January. In spite of the inclement weather, it was the largest crowd we have ever had for this great American’s birthday. Tim Moon, our Civil War and Indian Artifacts Museum director, said a large crowd also visited the museum that day.

Speaking of the museum, Tim wants to remind everyone that there is on display a Clovis arrowhead and a Cumberland arrowhead. Both of these items are at least 10,000 years old.

Remember, admission to the museum is free to the public and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. For further information, you may call the museum at (256) 892-5198.

Volunteers for the museum are needed. If you are interested, please call me at (256) 310-3910.
