2nd Place - Elementary Division

My friend Millie and me took a shortcut home last night. We went through the spooky graveyard.

We were both scared until we saw another little girl taking the same shortcut. She had a little dog with her.

She asked if she could follow us through the graveyard. We said yes and petted her dog.

She said her name was Angelica. She told us she gets scared when she is alone.

We were glad to find a friend in such a spooky place. We all sang a song as we walked.

All of a sudden Angelica stopped singing. I asked her what was wrong. She said she couldn't go past there. She pointed to the graveyard sign.

When we looked back Angelica was gone. But we could see her dog. It was pawing at the ground on the grave. When we called to the dog it would not come.

When we got to the grave we could see the shiny new headstone. It read, "Rest in peace Angelica."

We both screamed and ran from the graveyard and swore we would never return.
