Baseball champs: Saks Dixie Boys win District 2 championship

The Saks Dixie Boys 14-and-under baseball team recently won the District 2 Championship by defeating six area teams with a 6-1 record. They competed in the state tournament in Eufaula and placed fourth. They won their first two in a double elimination before losing to Troy and AUM Montgomery.

Team members included front row, Matthew Bean, David O'Dell, Dalton Cobb, Tanner Wells, Trey Smith and Logan Knight, bat boy; back row, Josh Wilson, Corpio Dennard, coach Randy Cobb; Chase Johnson, Jesse Ginn; coach Mike Knight and Austin Knight.
