Trinity Baptist Church of Oxford celebrated Dr. C.O. Grinstead's 40th anniversary with the church by holding a special banquet on June 27. The evening began with hors d'oeuvres furnished by the ladies of the church. The deacons, their wives and members of the church, prepared the delicious dinner. The youth and other members of the church served. Mrs. Paige Powers created an elegant four-tier, sage green cake with ivory roses for the occasion.

Out-of-town guests included, the Rev. Bill & Mary Fortner, executive director of Frontline Fellowship, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Dr. James and Mary Ray, president, Baptist International Missions Inc., Chattanooga, Tenn.; Bro. Grinstead's three children, Joe and Debbie Uveling; Jefferson City, Mo., Darryl and Sharon Grinstead, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Scott and Dawn Porter, Pensacola, Fla.; as well as all nine of their grandchildren were in attendance. Special music was performed by Miss Shari Vickers and Mr. Russell Dunnam.

During the meal, a continual slide show of the Grinstead's gave a glimpse of the 40 years of service they have given to Trinity. In addition to the special guests who spoke, a few of the members of the church gave tribute to Dr. and Mrs. Grinstead in their faithfulness and dedication to the ministry. The Master of Ceremony, Mr. Danny Hubbard, read letters of congratulations, including a letter from Atty. Gen. Troy King. Dr. James Ray presented Dr. Grinstead with a plaque from BIMI, and the Grinstead's received gifts from the church.
