Wadley native, Shanna Lockwood, graduated May 9 Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree. She is a 2005 graduate of Wadley High School and earned an associate in science degree at Southern Union in 2007.

During her time at Auburn, she majored in English and was a member of the National Society of collegiate Scholars, Tau Sigma Honor Society, and Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society.

She also served as assistant photo editor for the university's yearbook, the Glomerata.

Future plans include graduate school in Auburn's Master of Technical and Professional Communication program, as well as walking the sidelines to capture the Tigers in action as photo editor for the yearbook.

She is the daughter of Shawn and Alecia Lockwood of Wadley, and granddaughter of Ralph and Virginia Windsor of the Corinth community and Edna Lockwood of Afton, N.Y., and the late John Lockwood.
