Star Publisher H. Brandt Ayers' recent column had factual information on Republican office-holders' foibles. A similar column could be written on elected Democrats currently serving. I thought he was condescending when he commented on Sarah Palin: "Poor thing, she really needs time off."
Just read recently in The Star that Oxford Mayor Leon Smith thinks the rocks on the hill that is the site of a Native American stone mound are the result of erosion. Oh, me. He formerly thought the hill was a site for smoke signals; again, oh, me. I wish that site could have been given a good leaving alone.
Surely dirt is not that scarce in Oxford.
